You're right, it IS an interesting article. What I find even more interesting is the comments from the people following the article. Most of the commentary is in favor of the Bishop's statements. But, the few that aren't are very telling as to why the bishop is exactly right. The argument that 'religion' is to blame for all of the social ills in the world, particularly when evil dictators rear their ugly heads, is so interwoven into the opinions of many people, that it is creeping into the Church. While "religious" individuals have done many evil things in the name of religion, to reduce real faith down to a "religious" title is as much an evil as the former.

There are definitely some disturbing aspects to that article and the comments. I need to take some quality time to read it when I get home from work today.
